Companies create the experience. Life Science Cares Philadelphia connects students with opportunities, professional mentors, and industry relationships that can continue well beyond one summer.
From 29 paid internships in 2025 to 60 in 2026, Project Onramp Philadelphia more than doubled the number of students gaining experience across the industry.
Bring an intern onto your team.
Hosting gives your company access to promising talent while providing a student with paid experience, professional connections, and exposure to careers in our industry.
No additional program fee. Your company provides the paid position and manages hiring. Project Onramp helps with the candidate pipeline and supports interns throughout the summer.
Create or reserve a paid role
Typically 8 to 12 weeks, with full-time opportunities preferred. Research and non-research roles are welcome.
Meet candidates and make the hire
We help coordinate the candidate pipeline. Your company interviews, selects, and onboards through its normal HR process.
Support the summer experience
Interns participate in mentoring, professional development, and networking alongside their work at your company.
Host companies are asked to make time for four one-hour webinars and two in-person networking events during the internship, with student participation supported as paid time.
The work happens at the host company. The network goes further.
Students gain a paid position with an employer and participate in programming designed to help them navigate the workplace, explore career options, and build relationships throughout Philadelphia's life sciences community.

An internship should not require a student to give up the income they need. Donor support helps expand access to paid roles and fund the resources that make participation possible.
Not every nonprofit research organization, startup, or emerging company can cover the full cost of an internship. Support for Project Onramp can help create opportunities at those organizations and fund student needs such as transportation, professional development, and mentoring.

From an internship to a career.
While studying at Temple University, Alain Sto Domingo pursued opportunities in biopharma after his experiences caring for his father inspired his career interests.
Through Project Onramp, Alain completed internships at GSK and Paratek Pharmaceuticals, gaining industry experience, mentorship, and income to support his family. He went on to secure a full-time position with Paratek.
