Philadelphia’s life sciences community gathered to celebrate the work, growth, ambition, and future of the 2026 Project Onramp cohort.
The afternoon belonged to the interns
Interns stood beside posters documenting their summer work and spoke directly with employers, mentors, industry leaders, families, and peers about what they learned.
Their projects reached across research, quality, communications, regulatory affairs, marketing, operations, public health, technology, forensic science, legal services, and the many functions that move life sciences forward.
The room reflected more than completed internships. It held new confidence, expanded networks, and real momentum toward careers in life sciences, healthcare, business, research, and the fields that support them. Together, these paid placements generated nearly $500,000 in summer wages for students from under-resourced backgrounds.

The poster session gave every intern the opportunity to explain what they contributed, reflect on how they grew, and connect directly with the people helping shape Philadelphia’s life sciences community.

Showcase marked the conclusion of the internship season, but not the end of the relationships, skills, or opportunities built through Project Onramp.
Confidence
Students practiced explaining their work, owning their accomplishments, and speaking about the value they brought to professional teams.

Interns built relationships with peers, supervisors, mentors, volunteers, alumni, and industry leaders who can continue opening doors.

Project Onramp does not end when an internship concludes. Students and alumni continue identifying needs, building relationships, and shaping what comes next.
The Dobbins Community Garden grew from conversations led by Yailis and Kai Flowers about food insecurity, economic insecurity, and the resources students and families need to thrive. Life Science Cares is helping their community rally around that vision, one plot at a time.
