Core to Life Science Cares’ mission is providing access to education and opportunity for low-income communities. To address gaps, we’ve built signature programs to better connect talented and motivated students with industry mentors and internships.

Project Onramp

Project Onramp sources paid summer internships in the life sciences industry for undergraduates who are under-resourced and often from under- represented groups or first-generation.  Our goal is to bridge the opportunity gap for these promising young people, as well as to provide an “onramp” to a first good job upon graduation.  To learn more about the program, please visit the Project Onramp websites.

One-to-One

One-to-One matches students from low-income backgrounds, are first generation, and/or identify as students of color with life science professionals from diverse roles and backgrounds for career conversations. These conversations are intended to increase students’ interest in the fast-growing life science industry. One-to-One also provides students the opportunity to practice networking and other soft skills that are critical to long term career success. Learn more here.

Compass Collaborative (Boston only)

Developed as a partnership between MassBioEd and Life Science Cares, Compass Collaborative’s goal is to recruit, train, and place volunteers to actively support our network of non-profit organization partners. By creating connections between industry professionals and clients served by our partners, the program engages individuals through mentorship, networking, and skills-based volunteering towards pursuing careers in the life sciences field.
