Life Science Cares released its 2025 Impact Report for Project Onramp, highlighting the program’s success in connecting low-income students with meaningful career opportunities in the life science industry. The report demonstrates Project Onramp’s national reach and its effectiveness in increasing student interest in life science careers.

Key Highlights for 2025:

  • Increased Interest: After their experience, 94% of students reported an increased interest in pursuing a career in the industry.

Addressing Future Priorities
Moving into 2026, Project Onramp aims to build on its success while addressing key challenges. “We are committed to nurturing the next generation of life science talent, which is why we continue to focus on creating new opportunities,” said Lila Neel, National Director. “We intend to expand our geographic reach, forging new partnerships in cities outside the major life science hubs to create more diversity, even as the industry sees a contraction in available internships in key markets.” Key priorities for 2026 include:

  • Growing alumni programming and support.
  • Continuing to expand geographic diversity.
  • Seeking out funding support for start-ups, which face challenges in funding intern hosting despite their interest.
  • Developing a space for peer learning opportunities among companies and students.

Project Onramp is grateful for the transformative support of its partners and remains optimistic about building a new pool of passionate and capable talent for the industry. Thank you to our generous supporters. Including Eli Lilly, Johnson & Johnson, Third Rock Ventures, Google Ventures, and many generous individuals.
