On May 2, 2026, Life Science Cares New York will bring together 20 purpose-driven life science leaders for a 32-mile walk around the perimeter of Manhattan, a challenge that blends impact, camaraderie, personal grit, and the chance to build connections with other leaders. We’ll join the Great Saunter®, a 40+ year event with ~3,000 walkers, as we raise funds to fight poverty by taking on a shared, symbolic walk through the communities we seek to uplift.

Fitness & Preparation
This is a demanding but achievable endurance walk. It’s long (32 miles / ~12 hours) but has limited elevation gain. If you exercise regularly and are willing to do a few training walks, you should consider participating. While the goal is to finish, it’s easy to stop early if needed. We’ll walk together on event day, with optional group training walks and support beforehand.—
Fundraising Made Easier
Each participant will receive a personal fundraising page that rolls up to a central team page, with most of the setup already done. Walkers can easily personalize their page, use pre-written email templates, and begin fundraising right away. Offline gifts (DAFs, checks, matching gifts) will count toward individual fundraising totals.
