Thanks to many of you, Life Science Cares has proven we can successfully set a BIG goal and meet it. We are so thrilled to report that our first donation drive netted 2,300 cartons of shelf-stable milk for kids through the Cambridge Backpack Program.

So what’s next? Coats, boots and other winter gear! And this time, there are options!

  1. Boots (new) and coats (new or gently used) for CASPAR’s Homeless Shelter in Cambridge. CASPAR’s clients spend most of their time on their feet and moving place to place. They need sturdy, new winter boots (particularly men’s winter boots in large sizes).
  2. New coats & socks for students at Browne Middle School in Chelsea (a Citizen Schools site.) At the Browne Middle School, Citizen School’s typically welcomes over 100 new students who are newcomers to the country in a given year. They work to provide each student with winter clothing to ensure they can get and from school safely. They are most in need of new winter jackets and new heavy socks.

We recognize that these drives are pretty specific and not as easy as buying a toy or some extra food. Life Science Cares pledges to work with our partners to meet their needs and we can guarantee your donations will go directly to someone local this very winter. Together, we will make life a bit easier for our neighbors in need.

Thank you to Kaleido Bio, Takeda, Health Advances and Dicerna for being our initial partners!
