Life Science Cares Responds to COVID-19: A Webinar Series

Our first installment of the series will highlight the work being done by Broad Street Ministry. Hear from executive director, Mike Dahl, about how an increasing number of Philadelphians are dealing with the challenges of food insecurity and personal hygiene during the crisis. Mike will also share how Broad Street Ministry has entered innovative collaborations to meet the needs of their guests while maintaining social distancing requirements.

The Broad Street Ministry has demonstrated that a collective effort is more powerful than working alone. On May 13, Mike Dahl, executive director of Broad Street Ministry, described the unprecedented approach his organization took to protect the health of vulnerable populations and staff, while still distributing food and critical services to those in need. Cradles to Crayons focuses on helping the 300,000 children in Greater Philadelphia who live in poverty. On May 27, Michal Smith, executive director of Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia, shared how Cradles to Crayons was able to navigate pandemic-related challenges and respond to the urgent need for diapers, school and art supplies, hygiene essentials and other necessities to support vulnerable families with children.
