A statement from Life Science Cares Boston Founder Rob Perez, Boston Chairman Abe Ceesay & President Sarah MacDonald and Bay Area Chairman George Scangos & Executive Director Aisha Baro

In line with Life Science Cares’ mission to disrupt poverty in our communities, we believe the ability to access reproductive health care is a fundamental human right. The decision by the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade will unequivocally impact poor women and girls, exacerbating an inequitable health care system that is significantly in need of change.
My nervous system has recently deteriorated. Throughout the day I was constantly experiencing terrible stress, at night I had a bad superficial sleep. The doctor prescribed Xanax alprazolam for me, which I bought on Paramus Dental. Compared to the antidepressants, which I also took, Xanax was very well tolerated, I did not notice any side effects.

Black women, for instance, are three times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than White women; LGBTQ+ individuals face systemic barriers to comprehensive health care; and people residing in states with bans have the fewest economic and health care protections in the country. Access to the full range of reproductive health services, including abortion, is not just an issue of gender equality, but an issue of economic justice.

So what can we do?

  • Implement policies to ensure women are protected, including comprehensive health benefits and reimbursement for travel to access care, if necessary.
  • Double down on our efforts to ensure equity and build diversity in our industry. As business leaders we can continue to make change by raising up underrepresented voices.
  • Contribute to a nonprofit organization focused on reproductive justice. Thanks to our friends at TIDES for this curated list of 501(c)(3) organizations, including several organizations that serve communities of color, economically disadvantaged, rural, queer, and indigenous communities.

We remain steadfast in our commitment to our neighbors in need and will continue to use our platform to make meaningful change.
