Spring is here, and that means we’re turning toward our volunteer programs and employee engagement events through the summer! First on the docket—our Mother’s Day Drive for diapers & women’s underwear—two critical needs identified by our partners at Nurtury & CASPAR.
Life Science Cares is partnering with our great friends at Women in Bio, WEST, NEWISE and North Shore Technology Council to collect critical items for our neighbors in need.
The Need
CASPAR is a Cambridge-based homeless shelter specializing in addiction recovery. Every year they provide services, including clean clothes & underwear to nearly 500 women living in shelter and on the street. They need: Women’s Underwear: Cotton, full -coverage in all sizes
Nurtury is an early childhood education nonprofit bringing quality child care to low income families. Each Nurtury center goes through 14,000 diapers a month. They need: Diapers of all sizes: Highest need for ages 2-4/sizes 3-6
Would your company consider participating in this industry-wide drive to help?
Here’s how it works:
1. You choose when (the month of May? A week? Two?) and where (the lobby? The breakroom?) you’d like to collect.
2. You identify someone on staff who can be our contact throughout the drive.
3. Send us the information on when, where and who—and we’ll customize a flier can you share with employees to explain the drive and encourage their participation. (Sample attached.)
4. You run the drive at your company, sharing pictures of your employees participating, and let us know when you’re done.
5. We’ll pick up the donations and get them to the organizations that need them.
6. We’ll share the final results: We’re aiming to beat last year’s total of $5,000 worth of diapers & underwear contributed.
