We have compiled a comprehensive list of holiday opportunities for you! Everything from drives, to responsible gift buying, to volunteering! There’s no better way to build holiday spirit than by giving to others.

LSC Holiday Helpers
We are partnering with the Happy Hope Factory to bring Hope Kits to 4,500 children in inpatient and outpatient services this winter.
*Great for large or small groups! Cost of $100 per person.
Shifts: December 4th, 10:00 am and 1:00 pm
Location: 100 Tech Square
Make this Christmas one to remember
We are recruiting 50 volunteers to join our team and give the kids of the Home For Little Wanderers the best Christmas possible at Christmas in the City. We need help on Saturday, December 15th to sort through and wrap toys, and help on Sunday, December 16th, to support the families.
Shifts: 10:00 am- 12:30 on December 15th ; 9:30 am -5:00 pm December 16th
Location: Convention Center, Seaport
Cookin’ and Carolin’ with CASPAR
Join us for a special holiday dinner service at the shelter, or sign up to bring a team of your own!
Shift: December 19th, 2:00- 6:30 pm
Location: CASPAR Shelter, Cambridge
Group size: 12 volunteers
Please consider donating a store gift card to the International Institute of New England, which is then used by recent immigrants and refugees for the purchase of groceries or needed household goods.

Every week, Food For Free sends two days worth of food home to children in Cambridge and Somerville living below the poverty line. Holiday weekends can be especially tough on families that rely on reduced lunch programs, and Food For Free tries to mitigate this by sending additional items home over the holidays, set up a drive today collecting $15 Market Basket gift cards to help them feed Somerville.
Create a welcome home basket for Pine Street Inn to help a formerly homeless individual set up their new home.
Through the Give Back with an Outfit Pack program, you can help Cradles to Crayons provide local children living in low-income or homeless situations with essential winter clothing to ensure that they are safe and warm throughout the cold winter months.
Adopt a Neighbor
Help CASPAR share the warmth of the holidays with our 200 neighbors experiencing homelessness right here in Cambridge. Add one or more homeless neighbors to your gift list to provide them with URGENTLY needed winter boots, jeans and underwear
Christmas in the City
This year, Life Science Cares is partnering with Christmas in the City to give the kids of the Home for Little Wanderers the best Christmas possible! We have “adopted” the shelter for December 15th and 16th and are collecting toys for 175 children. Lists of specific items will be released the week after Thanksgiving!
Adopt a Family
Help Camp Harbor View families by committing to providing a family with winter necessities and Christmas gifts.
Make No Sew Fleece Blankets for Nurtury
Get your employees involved in this fun in office volunteer opportunity!
*Great for groups of any size! Cost is $15 per person.
Donate Leftovers from your Office Holiday Party
Don’t let that ham go to waste! Support our homeless neighbors at CASPAR while reducing food waste by emailing us to set up a pick up! We can arrange a pickup anywhere in the Cambridge area within 24 hours (advance notice preferred when possible)
Host a Pop-up shop in your lobby
If your lobby has a little extra room, why not host a pop-up bookstore for the holiday season? Your employees can do a little last minute Christmas shopping while feeling good about their purchases!
Serve someone with a smile
Pine Street needs volunteers to help serve breakfast and dinner, as well as to host a game night for residents.
*Larger groups can sign up to do a “Chop-A-Thon” to help prep food for 2 days worth of meals at Pine Street for $35 a person
Shifts: 6:00- 7:30 am; 4:30- 6:30 pm; 6:30-8:30 pm

Work in the Giving Factory
Winter is a busy time for Cradles to Crayons, you can help by signing a team up to work n one of their donations stations. Activities include making outfit packs, sorts donations, and assembling kits.
*Great for larger groups of up to 100 for $100 per person!
Shifts: 10:00 am- 12:00 pm ; 1:30- 3:30 pm
Pack a lunch for a local child
Help Food For Free make sandwiches, pack bags of food for Somerville students for the weekend.
Shifts: Friday mornings, 8:30-10:30 am
Location: Connexion Church, Somerville
Buy your office Christmas presents from Beantown Blankets! For every blanket you buy, they donate a blanket to a local homeless shelter, just tell them Life Science Cares sent you and we will handle the donation!
